Lexmark specialises in office and workgroup laser printers — mono (MS single-function, MX and MB all-in-ones) and colour (CS single-function, CX and MC all-in-ones). Like other laser makers, Lexmark sells the imaging unit (the drum/photoconductor) separately from the toner on most of its larger models, with a much longer life, so the true running cost is toner plus the imaging unit amortised over the pages it lasts. The cost-per-page shown here is toner-based; where a model uses a separate imaging unit it is listed as its own supply. Lexmark also sells most cartridges twice — a discounted "Return Program" version (recycle-back) and a non-return "Regular" version at a higher price; the Return Program cartridges are shown here as the best-value default.
